Want to Solve a Mystery?

by Gene Taylor

As humans we are fascinated by a good mystery. All of us love it when we solve one. Even if we are not the one to solve it, we still are happy to know what had previously been puzzling to us.

Many people are puzzled about religion, especially the religion of Christ. I'm going to let you in on a secret. There is no need to be puzzled about it anymore. The mystery has been solved and the shroud of secrecy removed.

The apostle Paul makes that clear when he says, " For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles -- if indeed you have heard of the grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge of the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets" (Ephesians 3:1-5).

There it is. You can know all there is to know about Jesus Christ by reading what the Holy Spirit revealed to the apostle Paul and the other writers of the New Testament. God has not withheld any of the mystery from you. He has given you all things pertaining to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). You don't have to be puzzled about religion anymore. All you need to do is read the Bible. From it you will gain the faith you need to be motivated to obey the commands it gives for the salvation of the soul (Romans 10:17).

Want to read a good mystery? Then don't read the Bible. Nothing in relation to Christ is a mystery anymore.
